CVE-2020-36527Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unsanitized displayText

Published Jun 3, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Stored XSS in APTIS GmbH & Co. KG Server Status 1.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via HTTP and SMTP Status macros. The macros copy the untrusted displayText parameter into rendered Confluence pages without sanitization, so script content executes when a page visitor views the macro. Exploitation requires permission to create or edit a page and a victim who opens it; the demonstrated impact is browser-side script execution and integrity compromise.
