Undefined behavior via missing Send bounds
Published Aug 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Race condition in the Generator type in generator before 0.7.0 allows attackers to cause undefined behavior via cross-thread value transfer. Generator implements Send without requiring its yielding closure and value types to be Send, letting safe code move Rc-backed state between threads. Exploitation requires a consuming application to construct and move such a generator between threads; concurrent use triggers a data race and can crash the process.
