Memory corruption via unsound Send and Sync implementations
Published Aug 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Data race in the Rust cache crate 0.2.0 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to corrupt memory through cross-thread cache use. Cache unconditionally implements Send and Sync without requiring K to satisfy those traits, so non-thread-safe keys can be shared across threads. Exploitation requires a consuming application to insert a non-Send or non-Sync key and use the cache concurrently; corruption is confined to the hosting process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
