Application interruption via one-byte CRL parser over-read
Published Jul 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Arm Mbed TLS before 2.24.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt applications via a malformed DER-encoded CRL. The mbedtls_x509_crl_parse_der function reads one byte beyond its input buffer while decoding the crafted revocation list. Reachability requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled CRL data to the parser; published metrics report no confidentiality or integrity impact.
