Stored script execution via content-path settings
Published Jul 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in CMS Made Simple 2.2.14 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary script in another user's browser. The Content Editing Settings module accepts and persists crafted HTML or script in the page-image and thumbnail path fields, then renders the stored value without neutralization. An authenticated account must save a payload and another user must view the affected content, exposing that browser session to script-controlled reads or actions.
