Stored script execution via unencoded contact input
Published Jul 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in the contact administration component of LavaLite 5.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in a viewer's browser. The contact form stores the crafted New parameter, and the preview renders it without sufficient HTML entity encoding, allowing event-handler markup to run. Exploitation requires authenticated panel access and a victim to open the saved contact preview; executed script can access session data or act through the victim's browser.
