Stored script execution via unencoded Team preview
Published Jul 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in LavaLite CMS 5.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary script in a victim's browser through Team preview. The /admin/user/team New field stores crafted HTML, and the preview renders it without sufficient output encoding, allowing event-handler markup to execute. A user must authenticate, save the payload, and induce another user to open the preview; the resulting script can act within that victim's browser session.
