Database wipe via nonce-free reset request
Published May 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in ThemeGrill Demo Importer before 1.6.3 allows remote attackers to wipe a WordPress database via a crafted request. The reset_wizard_actions method accepts do_reset_wordpress through admin-ajax.php and performs the reset without validating a request nonce. Version 1.6.2 requires an authenticated administrator to visit attacker-controlled content; earlier affected releases also accept direct unauthenticated requests.
