Reflected XSS via incorrect JSON MIME type
Published Apr 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in Wikimedia Quarry analytics-quarry-web before 2020-12-15 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser. The /api/preferences get and set handlers place path-derived values in JSON Response objects without an application/json MIME type, causing browsers to interpret the response as HTML. Exploitation requires a logged-in user to visit a crafted URL and can expose session data or perform actions with that user's Quarry privileges.
