Memory corruption via incorrect DSP attribute length
Published Jun 2, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Buffer overflow in Qualcomm DSP Services on SM8250 and SXR2130 allows local users to corrupt memory through a DSP capability query. The service configures the DSP attribute buffer with the wrong length, causing an out-of-bounds stack access when capabilities are queried. A low-privileged local context is required; the public record does not state whether the corruption yields code execution, data access, or only a crash.
