Authenticated command execution via shell command substitution

Command injection in OpenEMR 5.0.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands through the backup interface. In interface/main/backup.php, form_sel_layouts values receive SQL escaping but are embedded inside a double-quoted echo command passed to exec(), allowing backticks or $() to trigger shell substitution. An administrator session is required for direct access; successful exploitation runs commands with the web server process's privileges and exposes application data and host integrity.
