CVE-2020-3623

Kernel crash via failed NPU v1-path load

Published Jun 2, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper input validation in Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile SM8250 and SXR2130 allows local users to crash the kernel through the NPU. The Neural Processing Unit v1 execution path permits a model load to fail and then runs that path directly through the kernel, causing a kernel failure. Low-privileged local access and no user interaction are required; public records do not identify the rejected field or missing validation check.
