Account access via delayed password-requirement enforcement
Published Jan 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper authentication in iThemes Security before 7.7.0 allows remote attackers to access an existing account before a password reset is enforced. The login enforcement path delays newly applied password requirements for pre-existing accounts until their second login. The account must predate the requirement, and one login session can be established with the existing password before the forced change.
