Arbitrary file read via unfiltered page state
Published Jan 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in page_edit.php in MiniCMS 1.10 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files via the state parameter. The handler appends the unfiltered, attacker-controlled post_state value to ../mc-files/pages/index/ and a .php suffix, allowing ../ sequences to escape the pages index directory. No authentication or user interaction is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the web-server process.
