Username enumeration via distinct login responses
Published Jan 3, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Username enumeration in PHPFusion Andromeda 9.x allows remote attackers to identify valid accounts through distinct login error messages. The login.php handler returns one message for a valid username paired with a wrong password and a different message for a nonexistent username. Access to the public login form is sufficient; disclosed usernames can support targeted password attacks without granting direct account access.
