Unauthenticated code execution via spoofed upload type
Published Jan 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in ExpressTech Quiz and Survey Master before 7.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute PHP code without authentication. The qsm_upload_image_fd_question handler checks only the client-supplied Content-Type value, so a PHP file labeled text/plain passes the allowed-type check. Exploitation requires an enabled quiz question that accepts file-upload responses and permits arbitrary code execution under the web server account.
