Authenticated code execution via client-side upload validation
Published Jan 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Arbitrary file upload in Elegant Themes Divi, Extra, and Divi Builder before 4.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The Divi Portability import function trusts a browser-side extension check and stores uploaded files without equivalent server-side file-type validation. Contributor-level edit_posts access exposes the AJAX import path, allowing uploaded PHP to run from the WordPress uploads directory.
