Stored XSS via unsanitized remote layout import
Published Jan 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in PickPlugins Team Showcase before 1.22.16 allows remote authenticated users to store JavaScript through a crafted layout import. The team_import_xml_layouts AJAX handler fetches the source URL, decodes its payload, and stores attacker-controlled custom_css in custom_scripts without sanitization. A subscriber-level account suffices; the script runs when an administrator edits the layout or a visitor views a page using it, enabling browser-session compromise or site takeover.
