Authenticated file read via fileurl path traversal
Published Jun 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in bloofoxCMS 0.5.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to read local files through the administrative editor. The editor accepts dot-dot-slash sequences in the fileurl query parameter and uses the resulting path without constraining it to an allowed directory. Access to the administrative editor is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the web-server process.
