Browser script execution via unencoded msg parameter
Published Jan 11, 2021 · Updated Nov 19, 2024
Reflected XSS in Quest Policy Authority 8.1.2.200 allows remote attackers to run script in an authenticated user's browser. The Web Compliance Manager's /WebCM/index.jsp reflects the msg query parameter into the response without output encoding. A victim must follow a crafted link while a valid session is active; the script runs in the application's origin and can read or alter browser-accessible data.
