CVE-2020-35681Network attack vector

Session data disclosure via shared request state

Published Feb 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Information disclosure in Django Channels 3.0.0 through 3.0.2 allows remote attackers to receive another client's response via concurrent HTTP requests. The legacy channels.http.AsgiHandler stores each call's scope and send callback on the shared handler instance, so overlapping requests overwrite state and can route a response to the wrong client. Exposure requires the legacy handler and correctly timed concurrent requests; outcomes include session-data disclosure or a request-handling crash.
