Code execution via unchecked face-cycle index
Published Apr 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in CGAL 5.1.1 allows remote attackers to execute code by supplying a malformed Nef polygon file. SNC_io_parser::read_sface() passes an unchecked file-supplied index into SEdge_of before SD.link_as_face_cycle dereferences the selected object. Exploitation requires a consuming application to parse the crafted file and runs code with that application's privileges.
