CVE-2020-35593Public exploit

SYSTEM command execution via bootime path hijacking

Published Sep 5, 2023 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

Local privilege escalation in BMC PATROL Agent 20.08.00 and earlier allows local users to execute commands with SYSTEM privileges. On Windows, the privileged PatrolAgent service invokes cmd /c bootime without an absolute path, allowing an earlier writable PATH directory to supply boottime.bat. Exploitation requires write access to such a directory and a service restart, which the unauthenticated pconfig +RESTART -host operation can trigger.
