Stored script execution via unsanitized gallery titles
Published Jan 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Envira Gallery Lite before 1.8.3.3 allows remote authenticated users to inject JavaScript through a gallery title. The AJAX gallery-metadata path accepts meta[title] from a POST request and stores it without adequately neutralizing executable HTML or script before rendering. A low-privileged WordPress account can plant the payload, but execution requires another user to view the affected gallery, exposing that browser session to attacker-controlled script.
