Script execution via unsanitized custom field name
Published Feb 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in MantisBT before 2.25.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser via a custom field name. manage_custom_field_update.php passes the name to helper_ensure_confirmed without HTML sanitization, so the confirmation page renders it as active markup. Exploitation requires a user to load the affected confirmation page, and the outcome depends on the site's Content Security Policy.
