Database access via shared instance password
Published Feb 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in mbCONNECT24 and mymbCONNECT24 through 2.6.2 allow local users to reuse a database password across instances. The database-access configuration assigns the same otherwise secure password to separate instances instead of generating an instance-specific secret. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access; the vendor reports no known exploitation path, so resulting database access remains unconfirmed.
