Application crash via out-of-bounds quantile read

An out-of-bounds read in GNU Scientific Library 2.5 and 2.6 allows context-dependent attackers to crash applications via crafted data. The gsl_stats_quantile_from_sorted_data function reads beyond the supplied sorted-data array during quantile calculation, but the published advisory does not identify the triggering field or boundary condition. A consuming application must pass attacker-controlled data to the function, and the current NVD assessment bounds the demonstrated consequence to availability loss with user interaction.
