Remote code execution via unsafe configuration write
Published Feb 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Code injection in 74cms 5.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute PHP code and control the application server through a crafted site_domain value. The configuration edit action passes the site_domain request value through trim, var_export, and stripslashes before update_config writes executable PHP to url.php. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful injection executes with the web-server process's permissions.
