Code execution via weak repository URL validation
Published Apr 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Server-side request forgery in WonderCMS 3.1.3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted theme or plugin URL. The addCustomThemePluginRepository function in index.php accepts a submitted repository URL when it merely contains a GitHub or GitLab substring, then downstream code retrieves repository content with cURL. The public exploit uses an authenticated administrator session to submit the URL, although the CVE record and NVD assessment classify the attack as requiring no privileges.
