Stored script execution via unsanitized task fields
Published Jan 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Employee Performance Evaluation System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via task data. The Admin Portal stores unsanitized Task and Description values and later renders them as HTML, causing an injected event handler to run in a viewer's browser. Administrative credentials are required to create the crafted task, and execution requires a user to view the stored content; the demonstrated consequence is script execution in the application's origin.
