CVE-2020-35230Public exploit

Authenticated switch reboot via integer-overflowing web parameters

Published Mar 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Integer overflow in NETGEAR JGS516PE and GS116Ev2 2.6.0.43 allows remote authenticated users to reboot the switch via web requests. The groupId field in Basic 802.1Q VLAN POST handling accepts an oversized signed decimal string without range validation, causing integer overflow. Administrative web access and enabled Plus Utility support are required; exploitation forces a device reboot and interrupts service.
