Privilege escalation via unsanitized Social Monitor title
Published Jan 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Mautic Social Monitoring before 3.2.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in other users' browsers. The monitoring edit route stores the monitoring[title] value without neutralizing HTML, and the Social Monitor view evaluates an injected image error handler as script. Access to Social Monitoring is required, and an administrator who views the crafted monitor exposes an authenticated session to account changes and attacker privilege escalation.
