Administrator access via unsanitized return parameter
Published Feb 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Mautic before 3.2.4 allows remote attackers to inject executable JavaScript through the forms component. The mautic[return] parameter is accepted without adequate neutralization and is rendered in a web response, enabling script execution in a victim's browser. The attack requires no Mautic privileges but requires user interaction; successful exploitation can provide unauthorized administrator-level access and compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
