Arbitrary code execution via undisclosed memory corruption
Published Jan 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Memory corruption in Mozilla Firefox before 84, Firefox ESR before 78.6, and Thunderbird before 78.6 allows remote attackers to run code. Mozilla has not disclosed the affected code locations or the invalid memory operations, stating only that the bugs showed evidence of memory corruption. Reaching the flaws requires processing attacker-controlled web or browser-like content; ordinary Thunderbird mail reading disables scripting.
