CVE-2020-3344

Service restart via insufficient packet validation

Published May 22, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Buffer overflow in Cisco AMP for Endpoints Linux and Mac connectors allows local users to crash and restart the endpoint service. Cisco identifies insufficient validation of a crafted packet but does not disclose the affected parser or copy operation. A low-privileged authenticated local account is required, and the reported impact is limited to a service crash followed by an automatic restart.
