Service crash via insufficient packet validation

Buffer overflow in Cisco AMP for Endpoints Linux and Mac connectors allows local users to crash and restart the endpoint service. The connector insufficiently validates a crafted packet before processing it in a memory buffer; Cisco has not disclosed the affected code locus. Authenticated local access is required, and the consequence is limited to a service crash and automatic restart.
