CVE-2020-3336Network attack vector

Root filesystem access via malformed upgrade parameters

Published Jun 18, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

OS command injection in Cisco TelePresence CE Software allows remote authenticated users to modify device files through upgrade requests. The software-upgrade process insufficiently validates malformed parameters received through the console, SSH, or web API before using them in privileged filesystem operations. Administrative privileges are required; successful exploitation can alter device configuration or interrupt service through denial of service.
