CVE-2020-3334

Device reload via unicast ARP resource exhaustion

Published May 6, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Resource exhaustion in Cisco ASA Software on Firepower 2100 appliances allows attackers to force a device reload via unicast ARP floods. The management interface incorrectly processes bursts of unicast ARP packets, exhausting resources until internal system keepalives stop. Exploitation requires unauthenticated Layer 2 adjacency to the Firepower 2100 management interface and results in a service-interrupting reload.
