CVE-2020-3314

Service crash via malformed file attributes

Published May 22, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Improper input validation in Cisco AMP for Endpoints Mac Connector before 1.12.3.738 allows attackers to crash the scan engine via a crafted file. The file-scan process fails to validate specific file attributes before scanning them, causing the scan engine and connector service to restart. A user must receive the crafted file; repeated scans interrupt endpoint protection and cause detection and logging of that file to be missed.
