Authenticated stack overflow code execution
Published Jun 18, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Stack overflow in Cisco Small Business RV Series Router Firmware 1.5.1.05 and earlier allows remote authenticated administrators to execute arbitrary code. Web management scripts accept oversized user-supplied values without boundary checks, overflowing stack buffers. The attacker must have administrative credentials for the management interface; successful exploitation can crash the router or run code with root privileges.
