CVE-2020-3279Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command injection via unvalidated script input

Published Jun 18, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Command injection in Cisco Small Business RV routers allows remote authenticated users with administrative privileges to execute arbitrary commands. The web management interface passes user-supplied input to scripts without proper validation, allowing crafted requests to reach the underlying operating system as root. Exploitation requires valid administrative access to the management interface; successful attacks can read, modify, or disrupt device operation through root-level command execution.
