Root command execution via unvalidated script input
Published Jun 18, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Command injection in Cisco RV firmware 1.5.1.05 and earlier or 4.2.3.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands. The web-based management interface passes inadequately validated request input to scripts, allowing crafted requests to alter the commands they execute. Administrative access is required; exposure is limited to the local LAN unless remote management, which is disabled by default, is enabled.
