Command injection in Cisco Small Business RV Series router firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands through crafted requests. The web management interface fails to validate user-supplied input before scripts process it, allowing crafted requests to invoke arbitrary operating-system commands. Administrative web-interface privileges are required; remote management is disabled by default, but the interface remains reachable from the local LAN, and successful exploitation grants root-level command execution.
