CVE-2020-3265

Authenticated root privilege escalation via crafted request

Published Mar 19, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Privilege escalation in Cisco SD-WAN software before 19.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to gain root privileges via a crafted request. Insufficient input validation processes attacker-controlled request data without adequate validation, enabling execution in the underlying operating system. Exploitation requires authenticated local access to an affected SD-WAN component; successful compromise grants root-level control over confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
