CVE-2020-3264Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via SSH_CONNECTION stack overflow

Published Mar 19, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in confd_cli in Cisco SD-WAN 18.3.8 allows local users to gain elevated privileges via SSH_CONNECTION. The SUID binary splits SSH_CONNECTION and passes its second field to sprintf without a length check, overwriting its stack and return address. A low-privileged shell on an affected controller is required; successful exploitation permits unauthorized information access and system changes.
