Arbitrary code execution via malicious application URL
Published Jun 18, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Improper URL input validation in Cisco Webex Meetings Desktop App before 39.5.12 allows remote attackers to execute local programs. Application-URL processing launches programs referenced by attacker-controlled URL input without adequately validating the supplied path. A user must follow the malicious URL; arbitrary code execution additionally requires a malicious file already planted locally or on an accessible network path.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
