CVE-2020-3256Network attack vector

Administrative file disclosure via external XML entities

Published May 6, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

XXE injection in Cisco Hosted Collaboration Mediation Fulfillment before 12.5(1)SU2 allows remote authenticated users to read local files. The web management interface parses certain attacker-supplied XML files without restricting external entity references, so the parser resolves entities that reference local resources. Administrative HCM-F privileges and network access to the management interface are required, and successful exploitation discloses files readable by the application.
