Unauthenticated file disclosure via unchecked download path
Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Directory traversal in the userAPIDownloadFile API in Cisco UCS Director allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files without authentication. The downloadFile method appends an attacker-supplied filename to the exports directory and opens the resulting path without rejecting traversal sequences. The process reads files with root privileges, so any file readable by the service is exposed; Cisco also reports possible API disruption for this CVE.
