CVE-2020-3249Network attack vector

Authenticated service interruption via path traversal

Published Apr 15, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Directory traversal in affected Cisco UCS Director releases allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service through crafted REST API requests. The saveWindowsNetworkConfig method uses a user-supplied path in file operations without validation, permitting arbitrary file overwrite. Cisco requires valid low-privileged credentials for reachability; exploitation can corrupt files needed by the appliance and interrupt service.
