CVE-2020-3241Network attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary file overwrite via task path traversal

Published Jun 18, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Path traversal in Cisco UCS Director before 6.7.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite arbitrary files through orchestration tasks. The web management task handler accepts user-supplied configuration parameters without sufficient path validation, allowing traversal outside intended locations. Exploitation requires an authenticated account able to create the task; the bounded impact is integrity and availability loss from arbitrary file replacement, with no confidentiality impact reported.
